Cyclist Safety Tips

A few tips for our riders as you embark on the No Baloney Bicycle Ride:

  • Helmets are required for all No Baloney Bicycle Ride participants.  No exceptions.
  • Riders must obey all traffic laws.  Remember cyclists have the same rights as motorists.
  • Riders should ride on the right side of the road with the flow of traffic.
  • Be courteous and predictable!  Let other riders and motorists know your intentions.  Use hand signals when approaching turns.  When passing other riders, a quick, “Passing on your left”, is recommended.
  • Be visible.  Wear bright colored clothing.  Use head lights and tail lights.
  • If riding in large groups, ride no more than two riders abreast.  This allows for motorists and other riders to pass your group safely.
